Retin A is not a chemical peel

Retin A is a prescription topical medicine that should only be used under a physician's supervision.  When topical retinoids are prescribed, they are typically used daily or every other day and not sporadically.  Generally, it takes over two months to begin to see the beneficial effects of a topical retinoid.  It is advisable to have a board certified dermatologist specifically tailor a skin care regimen for anyone interested in using a topical retinoid. more
