Is It Possible to Retain A Cup Breasts After Breast Reconstruction?

I will be having bilateral mastectomy surgery in the next few weeks. I am currently an A cup and am wondering about the likelihood of remaining approximately the same size after Breast implant reconstruction surgery.

Combining bilateral mastectomies and immediate reconstructions has significant advantages IF the Breast Surgeon and Plastic surgeon communicate and work as a team.

A great looking reconstructed breast can be obtained immediately IF the breast surgeon allows the Plastic surgeon to mark the incision and preserve (do not undermine) the breast fold.

By so doing the Plastic surgeon can choose the ideal implants for you (based on either pre-operative measurements or better yet, based on intra-operative use of temporary implant sizers) and place them under the muscle over either an ALLODERM or STRATTICE floor, a biological hammock which prevents the implants drooping AND being immediately under the thin preserved breast skin. These results also avoid the need for placing skin expanders and the procedure to remove them and replace with permanent implants.

Your cup size CAN be largely agreed upon with your Plastic surgeon before your Mastectomy / reconstruction.

Good luck with your surgery!
