Just got Restylane injected into my lips a couple hours ago... the doctor did the dental block thing so I couldn't feel anything up until an hour ago, now it's very sore. I'm not sure if he used the entire syringe, but right now my top lip looks wayyyy too big. Some of the swelling appears to have already gone down, but I'm hoping it will go down even more by tomorrow or the next day. He said that the swelling usually lasts for a day or two. I'm happy to now know after reading this forum that there is an enzyme available to undo this if I end up not liking it. I read that some people are massaging their lips, my doctor told me to avoid touching the area for a while...? I think I may try icing it now that the anaesthetic has worn off and I can actually feel my lips again.

I had the Restylane done yesterday and also look like a duck and am bruised. I am at work avoiding people but will go home and ice down I guess. Helps to be reassured the swelling will go down. Maybe I did not know enough about this procedure. So I want panic yet. Have a wedding Saturday so maybe I want waddle in.

I agree with Dr. Clinton regarding the need for consumers to become familiar with the technique of the practitioner doing the procedure. Make certain that your goals and concerns are made known and that the nurse/doctor acknowledges these. It is important for the patient to see the value in a natural augmentation which can be achieved by defining the vermillion border (shape of the mouth) as well as adding volume to the body of the lips (mucosa). Swelling is almost always present to some degree. However, over-manipulation/massaging by the patient can actually make this delayed and worse. Using intermittent cold compresses, arnica, and following post-treatment instructions will assist in minimizing swelling/bruising. If the patient dislikes the appearance after 2 weeks, using Hyaluronidase to dissolve the product is a practical option and may be available by the one that did the procedure.

Hello Robert Thank you kindly for getting back to me I appreciate it. Im trying to locate your email so I can send you a photograph, I cant find it? Where is it? Iv also noticed that theres a tiny hole on the left hand side of the upper lip and it looks like a tiny blob of the product is seeping through, I just squeezes it and it looks like gel. Oh my gosh- whats that all about. I spoke to my doctor and he just said 'dont worry it'l be fine' Yes, well Im not so convinced abou that to be honest! I actually live in London, and the shoot was is in LA, Im so annoyed about this situtaion! Im abit happier to know that I can get rid of if, but you mentioned that it will take a while, how long exactly, please explain... Take Care Katy

it was in London, its ok I now though I had the hyaluronidase injection which was fab, the product dissolved in an about 3 hours- what a life save. The injection is new here, its notthat common to use on the 'mistakes' that the Doctors make on lip, plus its expensive.

I still haven't gotten a response on why I developed bags under my eyes after getting restylane in the tear troughs. It's been 3 years and I still have bags. Looks awful. I always look tired and I am not

I had restalayne injected into my nasal labial folds and I see a Big difference in my nose- is it possible some of it creeped into that area while being injected? I now ha d a ball at the tip of my nose and extra puffines around the bridge of my nose and its almost a year later. Has anyone else experienced this? im concerned that since i dont move my nose much there is no way to get rid of it beyond nose surgery (which i ain't having) thanks and happy smiling!

If too much restylane was placed into your lips or any other part of your body, the effects can be easily reversed with the use of another injectable drug called hylauronidase. Most physicians who use this product generally keep this material on hand for just that reason. It is safe and does not require much time. A quick injection into the overfilled area is all that is needed.
