Cheek implants should not affect Restylane injections.

To zabka, It is really all about the details of your anatomy.  In the right patient, Restylane can create a smooth transition between your cheeks and your lower eyelids. Restylane should be injected deeply and is quite safe.  Implants should not be a problem.

Safe, Off-Label Uses of HA Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm have now been used for many years, not only to fill the nasolabial folds, but also the lips and other areas. These products have a good safety profile in general. In order to gain FDA approval, their initial spectrum of application was limited to the specific area of the nasolabial fold, although much like Botox, it was obvious that Hyaluronic Acid Fillers could be used in other areas as well. Restylane is great for the eye area

Restylane is a safe and great option for improving the hollow appearance under the eyes. We use it frequently for this indication, in patients with cheek implants and without. It is an off-label indication, and the patients are informed about it. It is one of the best products for this indication, however, if used by a trained and experienced surgeon. It is very important to carefully select your provider for this service.

It is a very advanced technique so you do need to choose your injecting physician most carefully. There may be a slight increased chance of infection due to the implants, therefore a course of antibiotics for one week around the time of the treatment would be a good idea. In the NYC area, Michael Kane MD, Doris Day MD, and Fredrick Brandt MD are experts in the use of fillers. ... more

Restylane is safe around the eyes, but with risk.

Restylane and all the Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe around the eyes, but are an off-label use. The FDA has not approved these fillers for treatments around the eyes. Patients also have more complaints about these fillers in this area then for any of the other treatment areas. These fillers are more risky for several reasons. 1-The skin is thin, so small irregularities show up as bumps. 2-The skin is thin, so the HA shows through the skin as a bluish hue- the Tyndall effect. 3-The HA... more
