Is Replacing a Small Dorsal Hump a Small or Large Revision?

And how soon after surgery can it be done? I was interested mostly in how complex it is - is it less so than changing the tip? I feel terrible about the whole thing, because while my surgeon originally suggested he wanted to leave it since it looked "natural", I was so desperate to have the 'perfect nose' that I forgot how it would look in relation to the rest of my features. Should I even bother him with my concern, or should I go see a different doctor for revision? Thank you for your time!

Before considering a revision, one should wait at least 6 months. Even then, it may be premature. If you do ultimately decide that you want the hump replaced, this is usually somewhat straightforward. The level of complexity is due to a number of factors. While I don't consider any revision small or minor, replacing your hump will certainly be easier than your original rhinoplasty. I would encourage you to consult with your surgeon - don't be upset with him because he did what you requested. Follow the advice of your surgeon, but I suggest you wait at least 6-9 months before having another operation.

Replacing a small dorsal hump is a relatively small rhinoplasty revision.

Hi. You should wait six months, and of course exactly what needs to be done depends the details of your anatomy. But replacing the hump with a small cartilage graft is pretty simple, certainly simpler than revising the tip. see video
