Get free expert advice

First I would get expert advice (many good doctors will do complementary consults) on exactly what procedure you need, if any. No matter what you do, do not get the wrong procedure just because you can not afford the right procedure. You are better off delaying, saving, borrowing, or getting credit for the right procedure. And never compromise on the quality of your surgeon because of price. fortunately, very few implant situations require urgent surgery; most are cosmetic in nature or... more

Replacing implants

Depending on when your implants were put in and who the manufacturer was, you can get a new pair at no charge. If the original surgery was within the last 10 years, there may also be money available to reimburse you for operating room expenses. If leakage is the problem then you have a strong reason for having to have them replaced. Other conditions about your implants such as capsular contracture, asymmetry, size considerations, are only relative indications for removal and replacement. I would recommend consulting a board certified... more

Unable to afford implant exchange

You claim that you need to replace your breast implants but are financially unable to do it. I would be interested to know why you "need" to have them replaced? Are they ruptured or are they leaking? Unless there is rupture or leak, implants never "have to be replaced". There seems to be a misconception that the life span of an implant is 10 years. This 10 year number is soley based on manufacturer data that there is about a 7% chance of a leak or rupture... more

Breast surgery–financially destitute

You may want to contact well trained experienced plastic surgeons in your area via e-mail or phone describing your situation. You may be able to get some basic advice after you do so. Creative financing may be possible (for example, exchange of services). Best wishes.
