Lumped up scar tissue on the back and how to treat this from acne

Excision are definitely going to be an option. These scars though are going to be challenging for you. Tissue rearrangement type of flap repair is something that I have done as well for these. prevention is important. see video

Treating back acne scarring

There are various treatment options for your back acne scars which your dermatologist should assess and offer a treatment plan. For thick scars like you describe, cortisone injections (sometimes along with liquid nitrogen), can be quite effective. Chemical peels and laser can also provide some benefit. Certainly if acne is an ongoing issue for you, this needs to be fixed immediately before you develop new scars and skin damage.

Acne scars on the back must be treated with multiple modalities

Acne scars on the back must be treated with multiple modalities. Indented and retracted scars may need subcision, saline injections, and lasers. Raised scars may need injections of cortisone. Pigmented scars may need peels. One treatment does not fit all problems.
