I've had 4 treatments and been coming in every 4 weeks for my face. Recently, I haven't had any regrowth. Should I wait until I do or continue anyways? Just because I don't see the hair should I continue? thanks

Hair Gone after 4 Treatments Do I need More?
Hi Chicago. We typically space the treatments out between 6-8 weeks. 4 weeks apart is a little too close for our comfort because the hair growth cycle on the face can be longer than that. What this means is that some of the hair that might come back in the future has not entered the "active" phase yet and because of this, does not show up on the face yet.
You may need more treatments, you may not. If you wait another 8-12 weeks and do not see any...

Laser hair removal should remove 50% of hairs after 3 treatments
Laser hair removal should remove 50% of hairs after 3 treatments. I suggest patients wait 3-6 months before repeating treatments and then only when necessary.

Should hair reduction treatments continue if there is no visible hair
An average number of treatments needed for a good response to laser hair reduction is 4-6 separated 4-6 weeks apart. If there is no hair visible after 6-8 weeks after the last treatment, I would stop the treatments until you see some regrowth. At that point you may need a touch up. Some people require one or two touch ups a year to maintain the results, others may not need any touch ups at all.

Permanent Hair Reduction with laser treatments
The target for laser hair removal is the pigmented root of the hair. Until the hair begins to regrow there is no target. The intervals between re-treatment may extend as you successfully diminish hair regrowth. Wait until hair begins to recur and then retreat.

Laser hair removal
Often, laser hair removal needs to be done as a series of up to 8 or more treatments otherwise there is a much higher chance of hair regrowth.

Evaluating results of hair removal
The hair removal lasers typically induce a good response over the short run (a few weeks) but many of the hairs that initially responded begin to grow back. This is why most people recommend a series of 4-5 treatments initially - to increase the longevity of the results.
It sounds as though you've responded well but the unanswered question is how much of the treated hair will grow back? You might consider completing the initial recommended sessions...
