How Much Can I Reduce my Nose by? (photo)

Hello everybody, here i present you with 3 pictures of 3 women with the same size faces and same length noses, all these women have different nose projections, number 1 represents my nose without a droopy tip so we can see all noses are of the same length. my question is can a rhinoplasty give me a nose that looks like number 2 or 3? sorry for the poor editing on number 1 (my nose) but its actually very accurate

It is possible to significantly reduce an over-projected nasal tip, which is what the first picture shows, using an Open Rhinoplasty.  You should see a few experienced Rhinoplasty Surgeons for an in person consultation.

Rhinoplasty question

Hi there,

Major changes to the shape of the nose can be made during rhinoplasty. There's no reason the types of changes you desire can't be done. But to give you advice based on your diagrams is misleading to you.  I need to see your shape from the three quarter and especially the front view too as width is so important in assessment. My advice is that you are ready for a consultation.  Find an expert rhinoplasty specialist in your area and book in for a consultation, where you'll be able to receive a thorough assessment.   All the very best.   Howard Webster

Better than these  diagrams, it is best to actually take a photo of yourself and upload  it into a computer imaging program either on line or at  your rhinoplasty surgeon's office. virtual rhinoplasty software as available on our website link  below.

Degree of dorsal reduction possible during rhinoplasty.

Based on the schematics you have provided, both of the simulations you have provided are possible.  Remember that the greater the degree of reduction, the greater the risk of nasal obstruction.

Dear Amy,

Thank you for your question and diagram.  While its difficult to predict from a diagram, I think this is probably reasonable to obtain your desired results in the right hands.  Here is a more real life example of nose reduction in the following link.

Nose reduction results is dependent on many factors

Hello Amy,

Thank you for the question and the illustration.  The simple answer is that no two noses or faces are alike and the results that can be accomplished will be variable from person to person.  The best thing to do is have a few consultations with board certified plastic surgeons and have them show you comparable photos of what you may be able to expect.

All the best,
