Really Red and Scaly on Day 6

I had the VI Peel 6 days ago. I am really red and discolored where it was applied as well as my chin being red / purple and scaly. Will this go away?? I have done this peel before and by day 5 had beautiful skin...not this time. I am worried this will be permanent. What could be the problem?
