Red Patch on Nose a Reaction to Acne Treatment?

I have a teenager that developed a red patch on both sides of his nose about a month ago after acne treatment. I have taken him to a couple of doctors, and they can't tell me what it could be. We are scheduled to see a dermatologist but not until August.

Can you tell me what it could be? Thanks in advance for your help.
