Can anyone recommend a surgeon in NYC who is skilled at performing punch excision for ice-pick acne scars? I'm not interested in punch-grafts but I do understand that post-excision laser treatment is ideal for an optimal result--I'm just having trouble finding a doctor in NYC who is an expert in this area. Thanks in advance.

Punch Excision for Acne Scars

You should have no trouble finding a number of skilled surgeons in NYC who perform punch excision.  I find most people have a combination of various types of scars that may require varied surgical techniques including punch excision, punch elevation, subcision, punch grafting and standard excision.  I agree with your decision to do laser following and I have had good success with following up 6 weeks after punch excision with the Ultrapulse CO2 Total Fx laser.  Good luck!... more
