Can I Put a Normal Band Aid over a Surgical Scar During Sleep?

If apply with vitaminc e on top of the scar then cover with a normal band aid, will this hurt the scar healing process? this is just to avoid any unconsciously removal of the cream or (which i hope it wont happen) scracthing of any itchness from the scar. what is the best way to keep the scar moist? Does our lights at home are considered UV which we should not put our scar under (to see how it heals/any infection etc)?
