I had my braces removed in May. My orthodontist left me with a horrible bite where my front teeth are hitting and my back teeth are not touching. Before I put on the braces, I had NO bite problems at all. If i do not wear my retainer, will my teeth and bite go back to the way they were before braces like I was hoping? How many months will this take to occur? My orthodontist retired this month so there is no way to contact him.

Bad bite after braces. Orthodontist retired?

If your orthodontist retired hopefulley someone else took over the office. Go an see if any one else is working there and see if there is any way that you can get copies of your orthodontic records, pictures, x-rays , charts, dental models, or other information so that you can take them with you when you see someone else so they will have some idea what has been done in the past. You should go back to that office right away and at least try to get your records. You... more

Bad bite after orthodontics....

I would consult another orthdontist since yours has apparently retired. Since I do not the background of your case (how bad your bite was to being with, your complaince with treatment, the skill of the orthodontist, etc.) it's truly hard to give an opinion. Another opinion in person would be of great benefit.

Problems after braces

None of this is "normal" after braces....I have no idea what the problem is but your orthodontist should have made arrangements for the continued care of his active (this includes you even if you had the braces removed) patients. You need to see someone and find out what your situation is
