How to Prevent Wrinkles for As Long As Possible?

Hello, I am a 49-year-old Asian female. Currently I don't have any wrinkles or crows feet. I do have the nasolabial creases. Is there anything I can do to maintain wrinkle-free for as long as possible? eg peels or microabrasions? I use a moisturizer very occasionally and wash my face with baby soap. That's all I do for skin care. I usually wear sunscreen when I do my bicycling (1 hr three times a week)

Skin Care Maintenance

1.) start getting filler injections to reduce your nasolabial creases (these are needed usually every 5 months to maintain results) 2.) apply a quality sunscreen daily  3.) get a skin care evaluation by an accredited doctor or medical aesthetician (we offer free consultations with our nurse and medical aesthetician 4.) stay hydrated and eat healthy  5.) consider mild chemical peel treatments to encourage the growth of new, healthy skin   6.) start getting Botox or Dysport injections once wrinkles start appearing.  I hope this helps!

Prevention is more effective than you would think!

There are definitely several things you can do to help your skin!

1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen.

2. No nicotine products.

3. Good hydration, fluid intake and skin moisturizers.

4. Use a high quality retinoid cream.

5. Start Botox/ Dysport when you start getting wrinkles.

Then is no one magic bullet, but if follow all of above, your skin will look young longer!

No smoking and limit the sun exposure. Good skin care, microdermabrasion, botox and fillers can help maintain a youthful look.

Hi Lee--The combination of Botox, Skin Medica products, sun avoidance and sunscreen have been what I have found to work best at preventing wrinkles.  Take care, Dr. Groff

if you're 49 and still look fantastic, I'd keep doing whatever you're currently doing which is probably relatively little...some people are just born lucky and to top it off, Asian skin tends to remain good looking for a long period...the peels and microdermabrasion may offer a slight advantage but that's not a guarantee...and don't forget to wear a hat

Sunscreen, no smoking, botox

Hello,

Thank you for the question.  There is a genetic component that we cannot control, some people have thicker skin then others.  We can control sun exposure, tobacco use, and how some of our facial muscles work.  Sunscreen, avoiding smoking, and botox will go along away in maintaining a low wrinkle skin appearance.

All the best,
