How Can I Avoid Premature Peeling with TCA 15% Peel?

I have had 2 TCA 15% peels. I notice that the area around my mouth cracks and then peels first, very rapidly (in the first 3 days), with the outer areas peeling very much later (on the 5th day). This occurs even though I use a cream with stearic acid. I want to avoid the skin cracking this premature peeling causes the skin to darken. Any advice on how I can avoid this? Short of shutting up and not eating, there must be other less drastic measures.
