From what I've read on this site, doctors sometimes prescribe a special skin care regimen several days before the Fraxel repair treatment to minimize side effects and shorten downtime. What does it consist of?

Fraxel repair Pre-Treatment Tips for a Better Recovery
Hi Merry,
Most patients use Clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream twice a day beginning the day before Fraxel repair. They also begin antibiotic and antiviral medication. In patients with darker skin types or Asian patients, many are started on Nia-24 skin strengthening cream a week or two before treatment. Some physician treat those patients with bleaching cream.
Patients should be well hydrated, avoid smoking, and take antioxidants such as Vit C 1000mg twice a day. They should also avoid...

Topical cortisones help 2 days before fraxel Repair
We generally start using a potent topical cortisone cream such as Clobetesol , as well as oral antibiotics, antifungals and antivirals 2 days prior to Fraxel Repair
For darker skin types we also start with bleaching creams 1-2 weeks prior to the procedure
