Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation or Persistent Erythema?

I had some sort of infection on my chin in February, treated with desonide, ketoconazole, and various antibiotics. My face was extremely red for a while, then also peeled. I went back to my Dermatologist, who said I have Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. However, it seems that my face is pink/red rather than a darker color than the surrounding skin. It also blanches to its normal color after I press it with a Q-Tip. Is that typical of PIH, or should I get a second opinion?
