Can porcelain veneers lengthen my canines?

Based on your photos and brief description, you have a couple of options.Option #1:  veneer your canines in 1 or 2 appointments.  Cost will be about $1,500 per tooth, depending on your region you live in.  Option #2:  Metal braces in 1-2 years.  Cost about $3,000, depending on the region you're in.Option #3:  Attempt to lower the canines using Invisalign with buttons (attachments).  Cost about $3500, depending on your region.If you were my patient, I would probably recommend Option #1, since it would be the fastest and likely last you 20 or 30 years with proper oral hygiene.  Good luck and I hope this helps. Certainly, veneers can redesign any shape of any tooth, in particular canines. They are often ideal for that because the porcelain is able to be overlapped on the incisor or edge and, as a result, give it extra form and add one to two millimeters quite easily.

Porcelain veneers to make short teeth longer is something that cosmetic dentists do all the time!From your photos it is my professional opinion that you would be a perfect candidate for porcelain veneers.What you're experiencing is something that is very common with any type of orthodontics, whether it be regular braces of Invisalign.  Those two techniques are great for straightening teeth, especially when there is crowding, or sometimes when there is slight spacing.  However, orthodontics does nothing to make the shape or length of a tooth different.  Also, can't do anything to make the color whiter, repair chipped teeth or cover over unsightly fillings.  The beautiful thing about porcelain veneers is that usually they can be done in just TWO DENTAL APPOINTMENTS!  There should be little or no discomfort with getting porcelain veneers.  Since your teeth are small anyway, the cosmetic dentist doing your treatment should only have to do some minor reshaping (tooth preparation) to accommodate your two new veneers.Good luck.  I'm sure you will be trilled with the results.
