Increased risks from general anesthesia for really long cases

Hello, The risk from anesthesia starts to become greater as the time under anesthesia gets longer. It also relates to the health of the patient and the quality of the center and the experience of the anesthesiologist. This is one of the reasons that for large amount of surgery many surgeons stage the procedures at different dates--to reduce that risk.
