I've read many answers on this forum which stated that TCA peels, medium strength, don't do anything for fine lines. Is this true? Do I really have to go through a phenol peel or laser resurfacing to improve the tiniest of wrinkles?

TCA peels do great for fine lines on the face.

TCA peels do great for fine lines on the face.  Usually 30-35% TCA is done 1-2 times and eliminates most fine lines very well .  Phenol peels aren't done much anymore due to the increased risks associated with them.

Phenol peel along with deep CO2 laser resurfacing are the gold standards for especially perioral resurfacing. However 40% TCA peel will have great improvement to your skin texture and fine lines.

They are 1960's technology which has been long surpassed by better and safer technology. With... more

Peels for Wrinkles

As a general rule, the more intense the treatment the more effect you will see.  A phenol peel is very intense and the results dramatic.  The good news is that lighter peels and less intense lasers can achieve great results but you may need to undergo more than one treatment to get those results.  A good plastic surgeon or dermatologist can help you work through your options and find the one that is best for you.  Avoid someone that says:  the ONLY way to... more
