Do eyebrow tattoos sag along with the skin?

When you get old and your skin sags, does the eyebrow tattoo sag with your skin or will it stay where it was originally done?

When designing permanent brows, the 'horizon' of the brow is extremely important. Because the outer portion of the face will drop somewhat over time, it is important to not overextend the 'tail' of the brow. The rule of thumb in designing where the brow tail will end in topically applied makeup is a trajectory from the nostril through the outer corner of the eye to the tip of the brow. When designing brows for permanent application, this rule of thumb should be altered by shortening the brow tail about a quarter inch. A good trajectory to use which is pretty fool proof is the corner of the mouth, through the outer corner of eye to tail of brow. Equally important is the keep the tail of the brow HIGHER than the horizontal plane of the head (bulb) of the brow. To allow the tail to drop lower than the head well result in a sad look, a droopy brow in years to come. The tail should be, at the very lowest, even with the head on horizontal plane, never below it. LiZa

A good and reputable technician will always take in to consideration the positioning of the skin on the frontal bone and certainly if brows are designed too high, it is problematic. Obviously I am not talking 'dragon lady' tails or anything as extreme as what you describe. You have been sorely misinformed about 'beauty salon' semi permanent brows. There is no such thing. Needles + Pigment = Tattoo. It doesn't matter what fancy words are put to the procedure. If it only lasts a couple months and was applied with needls, the technician missed the mark (incorrect skin depth). And if it is applied with needles every few months, you can believe there will be some skin damage.

Eyebrows should always be designed modestly when doing permanent cosmetics so that when/if someone wants a brow lift it will still look natural. Long drooping tails are never complimentary. The start and end of an eyebrow should be on an even plane with a soft and subtle arch for the best long term results. Also, if a brow is kept on the thin side when tattooing it, it can be adjusted a bit thicker from the underside if need be. There is no such thing as semi-permanent makeup as it applies to any tattoo forms at all. There is no precise way to ensure that all the pigment will be deposited into the epidermis so that when it sheds in a month or two it is completely gone. Furthermore, they charge the same as any tattoo so who is going to pay hundreds of dollars for two months of eyebrows? They call it semi permanent because it needs to be touched up every couple of years. It does not disappear altogether, ever. It is an extremely misleading marketing term.
