I had decay under a permanent crown. They cut off the crown, removed the perimeter of decay, placed a temporary crown on with permanent cement, and sent me to a root canal specialist. The specialist drilled through the temporary to do the procedure as evidently I had deep decay. Now I find out that I have to have the temporary cut off and another temporary put on while waiting for the permanent crown. Is this normal?
