Is it normal for gum tissue to grow over abutment 2 days later? (Photo)

Asked By:streth in Flagstaff, AZ

Had #7 extracted 4months ago and implant placed same day. Just had healing collar put in and my dr. Actually had to drill excess bone! Two days later it was covered over w/gum tissue. Went back and was told it was ok and will return for final abutment and crown in 3wks. Also my front tooth next to impland is very tender now. Day 3 and I am still taking tylenol for pain and warm salt water rinses. Is this normal or should I be concerned plus no xray s have been taken in 4 months? Thank you
