Is Palomar Lux Fractional Laser Effective for Dark Skin?

I'm Pakistani so I have dark skin and on my cheeks I have acne scars (craters) want to smooth them out and was told to do Palomar Lux 1540 laser does it work and will it leave my skin discolored? Please help my first treatment is Monday and I'm nervous.
