1.5 weeks post abdominoplasty & umbilical hernia repair (lysis of intra-abdominal adhesions, repair of multiple recurrent abdominal incisional hernias, removal of umbilicas & muscle repair. 5 days post-op I started w/pain & noise of food digesting. I wake up w/my stomach/intestines sounding like I've swallowed a bottle of Drano. I’m eating healthy w/no gas causing foods. I’ve tried Beano, Gas X, lactase enzyme, Tums & Mylanta.
Pain, Noise, and Movement after Abdominoplasty and Intra-abdominal Surgery?
Thank you for the question.
Hopefully the “noises” your hearing are simply the sounds of the intestinal tract awakening after manipulation during the lysis of intra-abdominal adhesion procedure you had performed. However, given that you have pain and concerns, you should seek follow-up with your surgeons for evaluation, examination, and hopefully reassurance.
