Pain in Abdomen 10 Months After Lipo After Excercising?

40 yo male, lipo of abdomen and flanks. 3-4 months post op, no problem working out. After 1-2 month break, began working out again. While doing sit ups, started experiencing pain and swelling in abdomen and the area between stomach muscles would raise like a hernia. 1 mth later, still have pain / swelling when using stomach muscles. General surgeon said - no hernia, raised area was weakness in tissue between muscle. Could there be more to this, it feels like I ripped something in stomach?

Rectus Muscle Separation after Liposuction

To correct this separation or diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscles, a surgery to suture or stitch the muscles back together will be needed. This should improve both the look and function as well as pain. Find the plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of tummy tucks and rectus muscle plications each year. ABDOMINAL RECTUS MUSCLE SEPARATION

You have a separation of your rectus muscles and this can be repaired. Repair would be best via abdominoplasty approach. If you do sit up you get bulge. The lipo did not cause this but simply uncovered the central weakness. Go talk ton a ABPS surgeon. Repair is possible. My Best Dr C
