Breast Reduction: Q&A

Ask a Question

Pain After a Breast Reduction?

I had a breast reduction in June of 2012. I don't like taking the pain meds. Is there anything else I can do to reduce the pain I am feeling. It is a itchy tight burning feeling. There is also some numbness still on the sides. I just want to make sure I am not making a mountain out of a mole hill. I have had surgery before when I had my son and got an infection. So I am just worried.

Postop pain

Some numbness may occur after breast reduction and skin sensation may be altered. I would recommend that you discuss these symptoms with your plastic surgeon.

Pain After Breast Reduction?

Pain can be a normal part of the recovery process after breast reduction surgery OR a sign/symptom of a complication. Therefore, for precise advise, diagnosis or reassurance you would be best off seeing your plastic surgeon. Only after direct physical examination can a complication be ruled out. Best wishes.
