Do I need my original mold to get a new retainer? (photo)

Im in the U.S. now, and I've been living in Japan for the past 6 years and on the last day my family and I were there, both molar parts of my retainer were damged. So, to be able to wear them again I had to cut off the very last bit of plastic on the end in order to wear them again. Now, a couple months later I'm starting to notice that my upper set of teeth are starting to feel a little.more spacious, and is a little noticeable in pictures. However, the reason I didn't get it fixed right away is due to the fact that I have permanent wire retainers on both sets of teeth. But, I really want my plastic retainers fixed, but I don't know if that's possible because the mold of my teeth are in Japan. Or are retiabers find the way they are?
