My Doctor Says "Invisalign Recently Started Coming out with Grooved Trays for Those Who Don't Want Buttons" - True?

I have already paid this Doctor for Invisalign and I feel like he is not telling me something. I want to do everything possible to get the best outcome. When I viewed my Clin Check (teeth progression movie) my overbite is not corrected. He says a not recommended treatment of teeth shaving and attachments would be needed. After a phone conversation he agreed to and today at my first meeting performed teeth shaving - when asked about buttons he gave me above question - whats going on?

Grooved Invisalign Trays

Yes, Invisalign does have "grooved trays"now, but that is NOT instead of buttons. Buttons (attachments) are still necessary on teeth. The grooves help in certain other movements.
