Hi I have large uneven breasts right side is a full E left side is a DD, I have consulted a surgeon re. A reduction on both breast to achieve a full C cup. The advise received was a reduction in both breasts and an implant of 125cc in the left breast to ensure fullness of the upper pole. I'm really not interested in an implant and was wondering if this was a common option.

Surgery for uneven breasts

Without pictures one can't say for sure, but based on your size, it would seem the best option is to do a bilateral reduction, taking more off the larger side. Most plastic surgeons sit the patient up during surgery to examine the result and keep working until we achieve symmetry. An implant would just throw another variable into the mix. Good luck.

Uneven breasts

If you need a breast reduction for uneven breasts, this can be accomplished without the use of a breast implant. I have never performed a breast reduction and put an implant in at the same time. It makes no sense to me to remove volume of the breast only to replace it in the form of an implant. you did no show any photos, so I can't be any more specific than that.

Breast reduction commonly corrects different breast sizes

Most women are not completely symmetrical. Therefore the surgeon has to correct asymmetry in most breast reductions. The addition of an implant is illogical and adds much more complexity for you, in addition to the expense, the possibility of a hard result, and the certainly of implant replacement over your lifetime. Breast asymmetry can be corrected with breast reduction alone.

Hi. 1) Implant for your situation very bad idea. You just need a good breast reduction, taking out more tissue from the larger breast. 2) For long lasting shape, make sure surgeon uses internal mammaplasty (Lejour or Hall-Findlay) technique. These operations shape the breast from the inside and do not rely on pulling the skin (which stretches). see video

Breast Reduction / lifting for uneven breasts

It is difficult to determine which procedures would be best for your case without photos. Ultimately, it depends on the severity and complexity of your case and your overall goals. To correct your breast asymmetry and size issues, a breast reduction/lift would help improve the shape of the breasts. This involves reshaping the breast tissue and lifting the nipple-areola complex to achieve a tightened and perkier look. Implants may be used to achieve fullness and more volume if you desired... more

Breast reduction

It sounds like based upon your description that you could have a reduction done for both but slightly less on the smaller side. I do not see the indication for an implant with a reduction? Photos and an exam would be helpful.

Uneven breasts

I would not htink an implant would be necessary, but photos would help. A breast reduction removing more tissue on one side than the other should work.

Implant Not Needed For Large Breast Asymmetry

I would not recommend using an implant in treating your bilaterally large, but uneven, breasts. Many women undergoing breast reduction surgery have significant breast asymmetry which can be largely corrected with a reduction. Bear in mind that many women have some mild breast asymmetry and you might have some mild asymmetry post-op (as you might even if an implant is placed). Get a second opinion to see if that plastic surgeon concurs with the original surgeon. more

Large uneven breasts

If both breasts are larger than your goal size, there should be no need for an implant. If the breasts are tubular in shape, a reduction, done properly, should give you a more rounded, normal-looking breast, without the need for an implant. It will also give you a lift and improved projection. An implant on one side will give that breast a projection and consistency that is totally different from the breast without the implant. The result would be a greater... more

Please send your pictures

You would benefit from bilateral breast lift and reduction for the right breast. the use of implant in one side will cause uneven breast later on since breast with implant will sag different than the other side.

Reduction and implant

I do not agree with the implant idea. It would just add a variable you don't really need. It also adds a significant increase in costs. I would definitely suggest another opinion.

Do not think implant is necessary

Even if your breasts are uneven, and you want a bilateral reduction, you should not need an implant afterwards. I would recommend removing more breast tissue from the side that is currently larger and not as much from the side that is currently smaller. Although we cannot guarantee complete symmetry, you should get an improvement from what you are currently and both sides should be generally, but not exactly, the same size.

A reduction should do the trick

I would do a bilateral reduction and just take more off the larger side. You should not need an implant. Any fullness of the upper pole you get with an implant will go away over time.

Fixing uneven breasts

Without photos it is hard to say but a bilateral reduction and lift would be the normal thing to do to improve the size, shape and symmetry. A one-sided implant would add asymmetry in most cases I would think.
