I have a scar on my chest, about five days old. Its a dark brown, probably 6X darker than the rest of my skin. When this wound was received the skin did not actually split open, It was more of a friction from a sharp object. The wound is not elevated, not red, does not hurt and is not itchy, but it is extremely bothersome. I have no health insurance, and cannot afford a doctors visit. What options do I have to help remove this scar?

Dark scars will take time to fade
Your condition is common in people with darker skin types and is behaving appropriately to protect the deeper layers by creating the accumulation of pigment or melanin. This has the effect of shielding the deeper, more sensitive layers, as they have been shocked and will be further irritated by strong light.
