A couple months ago I had a consultation with a doctor for a rhinoplasty. I was concerned about the bump on my nose and when I remove the bump if my nose will appear to long for my face. The doctor said I should just have surgery on my bump because the open rhinoplasty scar tissue will fix the tip projection and droopiness i am concerned about.

Effect of Open Rhinoplasty on Tip Projection

Your tip projection can be changed or maintained regardless of whether or not the open technique is used during your rhinoplasty. On the basis of the one picture you submitted I would maintain your projection, slightly increase tip rotation (which will slightly shorten the nose) , and remove the bony-cartilage hump. Open Rhinoplasty CAN Affect the Nose Tip Projection

A few comments. The photograph provided is not a view we normally would use clinically. We often take full side, three quarter, frontal and a below view (to show nostril symmetry). You appear to have a long nose with a hump made of both cartilage and nasal bones. I cannot comment on any obvious nasal deviation based on this view and any surgery that may be required to correct it.
