What is a one-hour facelift?

I've heard about a "one hour face lift" but I don't know how effective it is or what it involves...is it surgery?  What sort of facelift is this and is it as good as a "traditional" facelift?

Unfortunately there is not a single 'facelift' and consequently, there is not just one 'one hour facelift'. Facelifts exist on a continuum from a mini facelift to more classic facelifts and the deep plane facelift. When speaking of facelifts, it is important to remember that the classic 'facelift' refers to a... more

A one-hour facelift refers to a minimal incision, minimal dissection facelift designed to address early aging changes: slight jowling, early neck sag, etc. It can be performed under local anesthesia in an office setting. Wow!  A facelift in an hour.  I can't do that.  Please let me know how someone can achieve a beautiful, long lasting, naturally looking facelift in one hour.  Most skilled plastic surgeons will take approximately 2 to 6 hours to perform a lower facelift and then add some more time if... more

Limited / short... more

A one hour face lift is essentially a mini lift that simply tightens facial skin. Muscles are not tightened nor is there fat sculpting of the neck. A comprehensive facial rejuvenation cannot be accomplished with a one-hour surgery.

A: One-hour facelifts offer limited improvement

Philip Young, MD

One hour face lifts will offer limited improvement and you should be aware of this prior to doing this type of procedure. If you are okay with this, it could be a great way to give you some more youth and avoid a much bigger procedure. You just have to be realistic. Significant results from a facelift takes... more

The results offered by branded, heavily marketed, "one hour" procedure "magic lifts" are reminiscent of this old story.  When a patient has indications for a facelift (jowls, mid facial descent, obliquity in the neck), one hour is simply not enough..... ......you can take it to the... more
