Oil of Olay Regenerist Before Fractional CO2 Laser: a Big Mistake?

I had fractional laser CO2 on Thursday, three days ago. Too late, I saw you are supposed to discontinue exfoliation for a few days before treatment. I am wondering what the possible repercussions of this are? I have some blistering tip of nose and wonder if it is because of the exfoliating cleanser (Oil of Olay Regenerist) I was using twice a day. The procedure was quite painful even though I was slathered in numbing cream a good hour beforehand-- maybe the exfoliation helps explain that too.
