Thank you for your question Drains are typically removed 3-5 days after a Tummy Tuck unless the fluid output is high. Drains are important to avoid a seroma.

You may find a plastic surgeon who is willing to remove your drains but most will refer you back to your surgeon. It is important to follow up with the surgeon who performed your Tummy Tuck

When insurance carriers break down surgeon's professional fees, they allow about 10% for preop care, 70% for surgery itself, 20% for postop care. In our office we would typically charge 20% of our professional fee for surgery to provide postop care. Many surgeons won't do it under any circumstances.

Fewer problems will arise when patients arrange this sort of care in advance of surgery.

Good luck.
