Slimmer Nose after Bridge Reduction

If the bridge is reduced and then osteotomies performed to close the open roof, the bridge will be narrower but not the rest of the nose. In fact the middle 1/3rd of the nose and tip will look wider relative to the bridge which has been narrowed.

Hi Jey, The simple answer is no. Usually if you reduce the bridge it will appear wider until you narrow the side bones ( osteotomies). This can make the nose look slimmer. Think of taking the roof off of a house and looking down at it. It wont appear slimmer until the walls are brought in. Best, Dr.S.
