How Normal is a Swelling and Blistering Reaction in a Light Glycolic Peel?

I performed a light peel-Murad's Rapid Exfoliator max. strength to my client exactly as detailed in protocol. Within one min. of it being on the skin she said it stung. Of course it is supposed to. Her skin looked normal but she seemed freaked out so I took it off after 5 mins. and neutralized. She already had frosting and blisters. Her one eye had swelling underneath. I have never seen a reaction this bad. What could have been the cause? Murad has not contacted me yet and told her to see a dr.
