Is It Normal to Start Your Cycle Right After TT Surgery?

I had a TT, BL w/augmentation and lipo of the flanks and I/O thighs. I am po 2 days. Yesterday I started having a bloody discharge from my vagina, similar to my cycle although the color is a little dark. I was not due for my cycle for another 3 weeks, I just finished the weeks before surgery. I called my ps, the nurse acted like she had never heard of this before. If it got worse to call my gyn. What domyou think?

Surgery can cause menstrual cycle period

This is not an uncommon story. My experience even in women as "regular as a clock" with surgery scheduled between periods often start the day before, day of or within a few days after surgery. Menstrual cycles can become irregular at times of stress, from surgery and anesthesia. It should not be a problem.

Irregular Menstrual Period After Surgery?

Thank you for the question. Although I cannot give you advice specific to yourself, it is not uncommon for patients to experience irregular ( either early or late) menstrual periods around the time of surgery. Your cycle should return to normal within the next one to two months. For real reassurance contact your GYN physician. Best wishes.

Is It Normal to Start Ur Cycle Right After TT Surgery?Answr:

It is fairly common for surgery and anesthesia to have this effect on women's cycle. It is usually gone by a few weeks...Not to worry...

Menses after tummy tuck

Anesthesia can affect the menstrual cycle. It should return to normal but do not be surprised if you get an additional menstrual period or skip a period. Be diligent with contraception and speak to your gynecologist about any concerns.
