I had rhinoplasty 10 days ago. The bump on my nose is gone, but the curve the doctor says he gave the nose is not yet noticeable, my guess is because of the swelling... My main concern is a rather large blister inside the nose which is uncomfortable, but not painful...It bleeds lightly sometimes when I clean my nose with a q-tip. Is this normal, or should I contact my doctor? Thank you

Blister after Rhinoplasty

Swelling is normal 10 days after rhinoplasty, but blisters are not. Return to your doctor for evaluation and follow his/her instructions.

Healing after a rhinoplasty

It is not usual to have a blister inside the nose after a rhinoplasty but it may not be anything to worry about either. I would discuss this with your rhinoplasty surgeon and have them discuss it with you and take a look at it if necessary.

Blister is of concern

Blisters in the nose after rhinoplasty are not normal. This may be the result of a surgical injury, or it may be a herpetic lesion. Sometimes the stress of surgery may cause an outbreak of herpes type 1. Only your doctor can make the diagnosis! But only with the right diagnosis, can proper treatment be given. Good luck!

After rhinoplasty, it is not unusual to have swelling for an extended period of time, making it difficult to see the final results of the surgery until the swelling resolves. It is also not unsual to have crusting or scabs inside the nose as the incisions are healing. However, without examinging you, it is difficult to comment on any blisters. Blister in nose?

Blister or scabbing? Big difference. If it is true blistering this is higgly unusual and you should see yoru doctor. Scabbing or crusting is relatively normal and should not be picked at.

Nose blisters after rhinoplasty

Blisters inside the nose are not normal after rhinoplasty. It could represent fluid or blood along the septum, or even infection. Best to keep the q-tips out and let your surgeon have look at once. Best of luck, peterejohnsonmd

This is not normal. It may be the result of cauterization which should heal eventually. DO NOT put q-tips inside your nose. Let your surgeon do the cleaning if necessary.
