2 days ago I got a 40% glycolic peel. Immediately afterward there were a few small white patches which kind of bubbled up a bit and I treated it with neosporin. These areas scabbed over and 2days after the peel, the some of the scabs peeled off. The skin under the scabs is smooth but red. I previously had acne scars in these areas and I'm worried if the peel exacerbated the acne scars because now they look more noticeable. I've put more neosporin on the areas. Will this redness go away?

Answer: Pulsed dye laser and redness after a chemical peel
At this point, I would suggest reversing the damage as much as possible. Begin with daily application of sunscreen + use of Melarase creams at least twice a day to combat the hyperpigmentation. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
You may need to be evaluated first for a burn. Once the skin heals, you will be at higher risk of skin pigmentation and will likely benefit from Melarase creams used twice daily to help prevent the discoloration. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
It is possible you had a reaction to the chemical peel and best to go back to the person who carried out the procedure for the best outcome. Redness and swelling are expected side effects but should not last longer than a few hours post treatment. All the best,Dr Davin LimDermatologist
