I just got liposuction today (very small amount) and have felt no pain or discomfort. I didn't have a compression garment so I used a waist trainer for the time being. I was surprised to find that I have no draining of fluid at all (my incisions were left unstitched) however my pelvic area is very swollen. I'm worried that I might have squeezed all the fluid down to my pelvis by just compressing my abdomen. It definitely feels squishy like it's not just swollen, but I'm just not sure if this is normal.

Swelling after liposuction is normal and will take 6 months to resolve, please be patient. You do have loose skin that will not tighten after your procedure.
The most important way to prevent post op DVT is early ambulation. Getting up and walking for 5-10 minutes every hour after surgery and performing ankle and knee exercises while lying down will help to prevent DVT. All patients before surgery will have a thrombosis risk assessment...
