How long does redness from a hydroquinone/retinoid combination cream last?

I have had two thin two year old brown hyperpigmented scars on my forearm treated with hydroquinone 4%. I didn't notice much difference. After seven months without using it I was prescribed a combination cream with 7% hydroquinone. I used the product once every night for three weeks. I had minor peeling and redness. I discontinued the product five days ago. Is this redness permanent? Or how long will it take to go away?

Melarase and Retinoids

Our office specializes in scar treatments. For dark scars, a combination of HQ and Retinoids is ideal and the ensuing redness usually takes a few months to subside once stopped.
