New Fractional CO2 Lasers Better and Safer for Acne Scars?

I have some deep acne scars and was looking for ways to smooth them out. Are the new generation of fractional CO2 lasers safe to use on Skin Type 4 (I'm on the dark side of that spectrum)?

Safer but maybe not the same result....

Patients with your dark skin are typically worrisome for laser treatments. The new fractional CO2 are safer and result in quicker recovery and less redness. I have not been impressed, however, that the results are as good as they are with a traditional CO2 laser. If you have several individual (ice pick) acne, excision may be a better alternative. If you go with the fractional CO2, you may want to consider more than one treatment to get you to your optimal result.
