I wanted to know your thoughts on having an RF treatment after having Ultherapy. Would it enhance results or have any negative affects? I only had my forehead and jowls treated with Ultherapy. I am interested in having a series of RF treatments with the thermismooth device for my full face and neck. It will cover the areas where Ultherapy was performed. I want to make sure I don't negate any benefits of the Ultherapy. Thanks in advance.
Answer: RF and ultherapy Without more information it is impossible to determine whether you are likely to experience clinically significant improvement from RF treatment. While this may enhance your ultherqpy outcome (and certainly won't hurt your Ultherapy results), you should ask your physician what you may or may not experience after RF treatment.

CONTACT NOW Answer: ThermiSmooth or other radiofrequency after ultrasound ultherapy for facal tightening and lifting I have not seen, nor heard, of any problems treating the face and neck with Ultherapy and then waiting six months to treat the same area with external radiofrequency (ThermiSmooth or Pelleve). The six months allows for the skin tightening to occur before performing a second treatment on the same area. Increased collagen production has been proven to occur for at least six months after the treatment. An exception would be to use the ThermiSmooth on the same area if the 1.5 mm transducer is not used in Ultherapy. If the 3mm. and 4.5 mm. transducers are used, their energy would be deeper than the heat delivered by the ThermiSmooth, so ThermiSmooth could be used to treat the crepy texture of the skin the same day as Ultherapy treats the deeper tissue planes for skin tightening. Answer: Radiofrequency after Ultherapy? Dear ritajwilson:Focused ultrasound and radiofrequency are complementary treatments and a wonderful way to enhance results. The mechanisms by which tightening and lifting occur with these treatments are different and therefore the benefits may be additive if not synergistic. A series of Pellevé or other RF treatments can be given before or after Ultherapy. I will sometimes provide an Ultherapy treatment beginning with the transducer that delivers TCPs (thermal coagulation points) at 4.5 mm in depth, and then finish with the Pellevé wands, delivering radiofrequency energy which causes bulk heating of all the tissues from 3.0 mm in depth to the surface without any discomfort, if a patient with a lower threshold for discomfort is having difficulty with the 3.0 mm Ultherapy transducer. This patient should understand that additional Pellevé treatments should follow to achieve similar (or better) results to the Ultherapy single treatment using both the 4.5 and 3.0 mm transducers. All the best, Dr. Clark
