I'm so happy that you are making some headway! PLEASE let me know how things go with the filler in Nov...I will make an appt myself if you are happy. I had poor results with IPL myself. After much reading, ablative laser seems to be the way to go. DON'T BE A STRANGER!!! Wishing you the beat of luck!

Thank you! I will for sure keep you posted. I'm praying for good results and that I am not blinded in this process!! If I do get lucky and have praise-worthy results, I will post before and after pictures on Realself.

I feel your pain girl! I mentioned http://www.asoprs.org. This is the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. The qualifications seem to be that 1) you are an ophthalmologist and 2) you have training in plastic surgery. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that you are a rock star at either, you know? Dr. Sherman is a member, by the way. Again, doesn't mean she is the best for Restylane, just helps to know that she wasn't working at LensCrafters last week. ;-p
I moved from LA, where we have our choice of highly qualified (but wayyyy over-priced) surgeons. It is slim pickens' out here. I considered driving to GA, because it seems like there are some decent plastic surgeons there, but I'm not really sure.
Anyway, one thing I did want to mention was that I had a long talk with Dr. Kenneth Steinsapir's nurse (she is in LA) about all of my options for improving hollowness (fat transfer, implants, EVERYTHING!). She said that she believes that Restylane is the best. I am not trying to beat a dead horse, I just dont want you to get eye surgery if you can get superior correction with Restylane.
My work flies me back to LA from time to time. I am thinking I might just wait until I got back next time and have them nip and tuck me then! :)
Dont be a stranger!

Hey I wanted to let you know that I had a consultation with Dr. Beisman today and it went really well. He spent a lot of time listening and looking at pics of me in my teens, 20s, 30s and now I'm 43. He recommended Restylane for under my eyes, as well as ablative laser on lower and upper eyelids. It's called Pearl laser... He is also suggesting a milder laser for all over my face to blend in some dark spots and hypopigmentation that I have. I also had a bad experience with a laser med-spa here, you can click my profile I think and see how bad the scars were... I've been working on them since 2009 and I think I've got the pigment back to where it was when I started, but I have like 3 or 4 hard white scars, so he is going to do deep FX laser on those, then Q-Switched laser on the rest of my chest for pigment issues. He is going to do the filler first, on Nov. 2, then I'm taking the week of Thanksgiving off work so I will have the lasering done on Monday the 19th. Have you had anything done here yet, or heard of anyone having good/bad results with any doctor in particular? I really liked Dr. Beisman's demeanor. He wasn't all "holier than thou".... The nurse made me take off my make-up before he got in the room, and I was on lunch so after my consult, the nurse brought me this big box of Glominerals make-up... I fell in love with the primer, concealer and powder foundation!! Now I have to have that!! It looks soooo natural!! Anyway, just wanted to give you an update. I did ask him about injecting it deep and he said he does. :-)

Sorry for the above...tried responding from my Iphone! I meant to say to be sure to find a great surgeon who injects deep. This is not the time for the medspa. I went to Dr. Hoenig, who is a member of ASOPRS, He specializes in the eye area.

Thank you again for your input. I would never have thought about how deep they put the filler but that makes sense. I hope to have this done as soon as I find a doctor that I am comfortable with.... These are my only EYES!! I feel like I need a dermatologist, opthamologist, and a plastic surgeon all rolled into one person!! I would feel comfortable with that... mabye :-)

I know exactly how you feel... I just moved to Hermitage and haven't had a clue where to go :(. We're in the same boat! PLEASE tell me if you find a good one! I'll do the same!

Well we are neighbors then! I live in Old Hickory :-) I work downtown, so consultations are pretty easy to schedule around my lunch hour, but I haven't found anyone I feel comfortable with yet. I saw the nurse for Dr. Deborah Sherman, but was not impressed. I've had minor lipo with 3 different "plastic surgeons" here in town, but I don't think I would trust any of them with my eyes. I'm considering a consultation with Dr. Brian Beisman because of the fact that he is an eye doctor and plastic surgeon. I just have a lot going on right now and have not had the time to make the appt and go yet. I will for sure let you know though, when I do finally see someone. Welcome to town by the way. Where did you move here from?

I am not a doctor, but as someone who has hollowness under the eyes which sometimes causes what looks like bags under the eyes, Restylane was the solution. What's great is that you can try it once and the results only last about a year, so if it solves your problem, great, but if not, then you can go on and have the permanent surgery.
Best of luck!

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I do have hollow under eyes, rather than bags... I have thought about a filler because, like you said, it is not permanent. I could try that first before considering surgery. I will post pics when I do get the filler. I feel like it will be soon... I'm tired of looking tired all the time!!

Nest of luck. I have talked to multiple top docs and they have all told me that filler is best for hollowness. Just be sure to dind
