I recently had a rhinoplasty - had the hump on my bridge filed down, and my tip hooks downwards, so there was a silicone implant placed in to straighten it out. Due to thin skin, my doctor harvested fascia and wrapped it around the silicone. I just recently heard that that silicone implants have an expiry date after around 15 years because it is broken down by the body. However, I was wondering if the silicone was wrapped in fascia, will it be broken down as well or no? Thank you.

Nasal Tip Augmentation, Does the Silicone Have an Expiration Date? This is untrue. Silicone implants do not have expiration dates once implanted requiring their exchange or removal.
