Pain in nose after Rhinoplasty may be an infection

+1

I have done many Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty surgeries for almost 20 years and I can't recall a patient having these types of symptoms anytime after a Rhinoplasty especially after 1 year.

I am not familiar with what was done to your nose aduring your Rhinoplasty but pain inside the nostril by the tip may indicate a smoldering infection if your plastic and cosmetic surgeon used a graft in your tip at the time of your surgery.

You may want to consider having a thorough intra-nasal examination by an ENT doctor in your area to rule out any infection. Fluid leak may be responsible for the symptoms your are experiencing.

Pain after Rhinoplasty

Infection, an open wound, an ingrown hair, or irritation from a suture placed at the time of surgery could cause local discomfort. These problems should be seen with nasal examination. If your symptoms continue , get a second opinion from another physician.
