Tummy tuck may not completely remove tattoo

Thank you for including a picture. A tummy tuck removes an ellipse of skin generally from the navel to the pubic bone. A much smaller amount of skin is removed from the sides. Based on the location of your tattoo, I'm not sure it will be completely removed by a tummy tuck, but I do think it likely that portion near the middle of your belly will be removed.

Tattoo Removal with Tummy Tuck

Almost all of the tattoo can be removed if that is a priority. If the priority is to get the best contours that may be a different request, depending upon physical exam findings.

Tattoo and tummy tuck

Your tattoo is very low and appears to wrap around your hip. It is likely that some of it will be removed with a tummy tuck but not all. You may want to look into laser tattoo removal once you are healed.

Tattoos and Tummy Tucks

Your tattoo is fairly low on the abdomen so the portion of your tattoo that is closest to the center of your stomach will likely be removed during a tummy tuck. It is possible that the part of the tattoo closest to your hip may not be removed during this procedure. I would focus on the best tummy tuck for your body, then look into laser tattoo removal options in case some of your tattoo is not removed during your tummy tuck procedure. Speak to your surgeon about your best... more

Tatoo

Your tatoo appears to be quite low almost in the pelvic area not as much on the abdominal wall. Probably a good portion of it can be removed if not all of it

Tummy Tuck and Tattoo Removal

Based on the very low position of your tattoo, it would be capable of being removed with a mini-tummy tuck. (skin cutout below the belly button) It is too low, however to be completely removed by a full tummy tuck as the amount of skin removal to do it is too great to get the wound closed after removal. Your decision is one of getting the best tummy tuck result and leaving much of the tattoo or getting rid of the tattoo but with less than the maximum result from a more limited tummy tuck... more

Tattoo removal during tummy tuck

Your tattoo is more lateral than the usual tummy tuck incision and scar; however, it could be removed with an extended scar. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Tattoo Removal with Tummy Tuck

Based on your picture, most of the tattoo could be removed. The side part is difficult to determine and would depend on your skin laxity. It may be better to see a plastic surgeon in person.

Can my Tattoo Be Removed with a Full Tummy Tuck?

It depends upon where it is. The tissue removed during a full TT usually is skin and fat in the shape of an ellipse. In the midline the skin reaches from the navel down to the upper part of the pubic hairline, and it tapers off the the sides. A consulting surgeon will be able to answer your question based on an in person examination. When you ready for an in person consultation, RealSelf has listings of surgeons in your area. You should consider cross referencing the listings... more

Hello

Without an exam or picture that’s a hard question to answer blind. Depending how much loose skin you have.

Lower abdominal tattoos can be removed with a tummy tuck

In a tummy tuck the skin of the lower abdomen is removed. Usually the skin excision involves an ellipse of skin that goes horizontally from hip bone to hip bone and vertically from the belly button to the pubic bone. If the tattoo is within that area it will be removed with a tummy tuck. Unfortunately, most tattoos that I have seen in the lower abdominal/groin area are positioned so that only the upper half of the tattoo can be easily removed with a tummy tuck.... more

Tatoos and Stretch Marks Can Be Removed With A Tummy Tuck

One of the less commonly discussed benefits of a tummy tuck is that it is quite effective at removing stretch marks, scars and tatoos of the lower abdominal region. Because the skin is removed, any one of these can be removed as long as it is located below the belly button, in or above the hair bearing pubic region and between the hip bones. The final scar is usually hidden by underwear or swim suits and does well long term. It is possible to remove most of your tatoo... more

Can My Tattoo Be Removed With a Full Tummy Tuck?

You may want to post a picture to help answer your question. However as long as the tattoo is located between your umbilicus and the pubis there should be no problems removing the tattoo in conjunction with the abdominal skin and fat. Best of luck.

Removal of tattoo with Tummy Tuck

Depends on the exact location of the tattoo. Without a picture I cannot give you an answer. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to address this concern.

Removal of a tattoo with a tummy tuck

Without pictures, it is difficult to answer this question well. If the tattoo is located between the belly button and the pubic area, it should be able to be removed in a full tummy tuck. An in person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will give you the best answer.

Tattoo removal with tummy tuck

It just depends on the location and size of the tattoo. Typically, with a standard abdominoplasty, the skin between the pubic region and the umbilicus is removed. This might contain the tattoo.

Tattoo location determines if it can be removed during a tummy tuck

The incision for a tummy tuck is often placed upon the lower abdomen, near or at the hair-growing skin of the pubic area. The tissue removed typically is the skin and fat from this lower abdominal position, up to (and often above) the level of your umbilicus (belly-button). If your tattoo is somewhere between your belly button and pubic region, then it can likely be removed during the tummy tuck. A picture would help answer this further, but this is something that your... more

Tattoo removal with full tummy tuck.

Depending on the location of the tattoo it may be able to be removed with a tummy tuck. A photo would be very helpful. Typically the tissue from the belly button to the natural crease of the lower abdomen is removed with a tummy tuck.

Remove Tattoo during Tummy Tuck Procedure?

You will do well posting a picture of your abdomen/tattoo and/or seeking consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons in your area. Whether or not the tattoo can be removed turned toward the procedure depends on its location in relation to the skin removed during the time until procedure. I look forward to seeing posted pictures.
