Does cut need stitches?

A cut of that length should be examined by a doctor. If it is deep enough that the skin is separated, then stitches will most likely be required. It is important to keep the wound clean and covered in antibiotic ointment to prevent infection. Infection could spread to other places and prevent the wound from healing properly.

Stitches

A photograph would be great but most cuts will heal faster when they are sutured however they will also heal without them

Facial cuts and when are stitches required

If a cut, or laceration, goes all the way through the skin and is open or separated, then suture closure with stitches should be considered. In order to avoid infection the wound should be cleaned and debrided first, and the closure should be performed within 12 to 24 hours of the time the cut occurred. Best wishes.
